Is electric motorcycle range enough for a Hong Kong day?
A brochure figure is a test. Hills, wind and a pillion use energy. Plan on about 70 percent of the claimed distance.

'Up to 180 km' without a test speed and a load is not a promise that you can ride from Tuen Mun to Kwun Tong. Some Segway-Ninebot Hong Kong range claims do not match mainland stickers. Use the manual for the bike you bought.
How should you estimate range?
Plan on about 70 percent of the official figure, then keep a reserve for the ride home. Short, flat trips sit closer to the test. Sustained speed, two-up riding or a hot day with every accessory on will sit lower.
Which Hong Kong trips are easy, and which need a top-up?
- Inside one district, a home-charged or removable pack can often do one charge a day.
- New Territories to Hong Kong Island needs a plan for the return charge. Do not discover an empty pack at a tunnel mouth.
- A long claimed range does not solve 'where does it charge tonight' if you have nowhere to plug in.
Does a shorter range mean the battery is dead?
Not by itself. Tyre pressure, load, riding style and a cooler morning all use more energy on the same road. If your own log drops and stays down, ask the agent to read battery health. Replacement cost is in battery life.
