Can an electric motorcycle commute in Hong Kong?
Short trips with a fixed charge point can work. Cross-district riding with nowhere to plug in should not be decided by a slogan.

The Hong Kong commute usually fails on parking, rain and the last hill, not on top speed. An electric bike skips the petrol station and adds charging to your day.
Which commutes are a better fit?
- The trip stays in one district, such as the north shore of Hong Kong Island or inside a New Territories town.
- Home or the office has a legal, fixed place to charge, or you can carry the battery inside.
- You accept that a helmet, wet-weather kit and a lock are daily steps.
When should you not assume it works for work?
No charge point, a cross-district shift that ends on an empty pack, or a daily load of goods: rent or borrow a bike for a week first. A motorcycle is not automatically faster in a jam, and filtering is not a right of way.
What does the commute actually save?
Mainly petrol money and the stop at a station, not the licence fee or insurance. Put electricity and insurance on the same monthly note before you drop public transport.
