Buying·Hong Kong中文
Rent or buy an electric motorcycle?
If you have not tried the commute or the charging, rent or borrow first. Buying makes more sense when you ride every week and the charge point is real.

This site does not rent bikes and does not quote a monthly hire fee for any shop. The notes below are only the decision.
When is renting the sensible side?
- You have not passed the test, or a new probationary licence only needs low-frequency practice.
- You do not yet know if the estate allows charging or a battery indoors.
- You would ride a handful of times a year, so insurance and depreciation hurt more than the hire fee.
When does buying make more sense?
A steady weekly trip, a charge point that already exists, and a willingness to lock and service the bike yourself. Put the price inside the waiver window, the licence, insurance and the years you expect to keep it next to the rent. The waiver runs to 31 March 2028. It is not a permanent tax exemption.
Which lines of a contract matter?
On a hire: who buys the insurance, the excess, whether battery damage is extra, and the cost of ending early. On a purchase: whether the deposit returns, and what happens if registration fails. Do not compare only the monthly fee or only the sticker.
