Electric motorcycle questions: charging, range, rules, repairs

The short answers first. Prices and premiums are not estimated here.

天橋下停著一輛深色電動電單車,車頭燈照在濕地上
香港情境。不是特定廠牌的實車,也不代表該處可以騎未領牌車輛。

Yes. It is not a bicycle. The vehicle is registered, the rider holds a proper motorcycle licence, and the bike has valid third-party insurance before it uses a road. Skipping those steps is not a grey area.

Is first registration tax still waived?

For electric motorcycles, yes, in full until 31 March 2028. Do not mix that up with the private-car concession, which has already changed. The licence fee is separate, currently HK$1,314 a year. See the fee note.

Can you charge with no parking bay?

Some bikes let you carry the pack home. Weight and building rules still apply. If there is no legal place to charge, do not pay a deposit yet. See removable batteries and charging cost.

Does jerky acceleration always mean a new motor?

No. Note the speed, the state of charge and the gradient, and let a workshop read the fault. Do not copy another owner's parts list. The NIU NX Pro note on this site is one bike's troubleshooting direction, not a rule for every brand.

Is this page a shop quote or an insurance quote?

No. We do not sell bikes, sell insurance or take orders. Price, premium and the waiver follow that day's official notice or the contract in front of you.
