2026 SurRon Ultra Bee Review: Hong Kong Plates, Removable Battery, Two-Up Riding

A write-up of a rider video: 21.5 kW peak, about 140 km claimed range, 89 kg, 910 mm seat. Street legality depends on the Hong Kong-registered bike. We have not tested it.

This page rewrites a Hong Kong rider video about the 2026 SurRon Ultra Bee. Figures and ride impressions are the speaker’s, not a test by this site. A European product page for the Ultra Bee HP lists 24.5 kW in Turbo and 21.5 kW in Sport, and says street legality depends on the country. In Hong Kong, only the bike in front of you — and whether Transport Department will register that frame — counts.

What did the video say changed on the 2026 bike?

A new controller raises peak output from 12.5 kW on the previous bike to 21.5 kW. The frame goes from dark green to black. Suspension support was retuned, especially the fork on trails. The rear tyre is an 18-inch 120/90-18. Grip comments are the rider’s opinion.

Can an automatic motorcycle licence ride it?

The video says there is no gearshift and no clutch. The rear brake moves to the left hand, so an automatic motorcycle licence is enough on that bike. Your actual licence conditions, and the class printed on the registration, still decide. A probationary licence has extra limits.

  • After the key, you press Ready before the bike will move.
  • E is the economy mode, D is daily, plus a sportier mode. Turbo holds a higher output for about 10 seconds at large throttle.
  • Reverse creeps backward for tight Hong Kong parking.
  • The left brake can lock as a parking brake. A small squeeze releases it.

What range and home charging did the video claim?

Claimed best range is about 140 km. The speaker estimates about 100 km in Hong Kong if you do not run the pack to zero, and calls that enough for most cross-district trips. Treat that as an estimate. The battery comes out: unlock the seat, unplug two leads, fit the dust caps, and carry the pack home. It is heavy; he suggests a trolley if the bay is far from the flat. A household three-pin charge from empty to full is about 4.5 hours. Whether your building allows a battery upstairs is a separate question.

Is 89 kg and a 910 mm seat usable if you are short?

The video quotes 89 kg and says the tail can be lifted by hand. The listed seat height is 910 mm, but long-travel suspension sags when you sit, and the seat is narrower than a scooter, so the rider felt his feet reached more easily. A thinner seat, about 20 mm lower, was mentioned as a pre-order option. Sit on the bike yourself.

Does the video treat it as a road bike that can carry a passenger?

Yes. The speaker calls it registerable in Hong Kong, with a vehicle licence, pillion pegs and wheelie control, not only a toy. Carrying a passenger still depends on the approved seats and on whether your licence allows a pillion. This site does not sell the bike and does not quote a price.
